When you’re poor and your parents are uneducated, they don’t value education.
“They can read and write! That’s all they’ll ever need. I need someone to look after the animals so we can have enough to eat.
“You’re in grade 7. You get to share a computer with 4 others once a week for an hour. Grade 8, grade 9 – no computer access. Your future doesn’t look good if you don’t have computer skills and you can’t speak English. Both of these skills will help to achieve higher education and break the cycles of generational poverty in rural Cambodia.
So we’ve built a place for the youth – Classes in Computer, Digital Media, Bible, Phys Ed and an Internet Cafe for them to hang out, do their homework and be encouraged by people who want to see them succeed. But we need your help to support on going support for teachers and support staff who can be a light in this new community. Thank you for helping to break the cycles of poverty.
