This young Cambodian woman helps assemble and make cards for Work of Your Hand. Here is her story, in her own words:
My name is Reaksmey. I am 17 years old. I have two brothers and two sisters. I am the youngest child.
I started to go to school when I was 8 years old and I stopped going to school when I was 15 years old. I stopped because I was not able to concentrate on my studies.
My father died because he drank too much alcohol. My mother use to have hypertension but she didn’t die. I am really sad that I lost my father and my mother also lives far away from me.
When I was 8 years old, I had an accident but I was fine. I also had an inflammation of my intestine. Then my sister brought me to the hospital.
I am so thankful to God, because of HIM I am alive and without HIM I don’t know what is going to happen with my life.
