Evelyn A.

Was able to share her blessings to her children and grandchildren.

Evelyn is 46 years old. Her husband died two years ago, leaving her with four children. A year after her husband’s death, she found another man to love and entered into a new relationship.

How she got started in this livelihood project:

Evelyn worked for a cooperative in handicraft production since 1990. She did embroidery and sewing. However, there was no work for 2 months. During this time, she helped her partner make folding beds out of straw materials, until she heard about Samaritana and the sewing project they were doing for Work of Your Hand.”

“The coffee bag project was a blessing to me since I did not have work for two months. The project helped us meet our daily needs and supported us financially. We were able to pay our monthly house rental and settle payments two months in advance. I was so happy that I could give presents to my grandchildren last Christmas season, and share my blessings with my children and grandchildren.”
